Gun, Drugs and Stolen Vehicle Found After Richmond Heights Crash

It happened March 20, police said.

A foot chase, two arrests and the discovery of a gun inside a stolen vehicle followed a March 20 traffic accident on eastbound Highway 40 near Bellevue Avenue.

It began when the learned one of the drivers, a man, had run from the scene, blotter information states. They took him into custody in a backyard in the 1300 block of Bellevue.

He had marijuana and a small scale in his possession, police said. He also had been driving a vehicle identified as stolen by St. Louis city police.

Police found a fully loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun in the vehicle's passenger area. They also arrested his female passenger and planned to seek warrants from the St. Louis County prosecutor's office.
