Voters May Support Clayton's Simone Bernstein in Energizer Contest

Clayton resident Simone Bernstein has been named a finalist for the 2011 Energizer Keep Going Hall of Fame. Members of the public may vote for Bernstein online until May 13 by going to energizer.com/halloffame. People may cast one vote each day.

The hall-of-fame program is aimed at "celebrating the positive impact everyday people make in their communities with the spirit of the Energizer Bunny," a news release states.

Bernstein, a Clayton High School graduate who now attends St. Bonaventure University in New York, founded the website stlouisvolunteen.com. The website connects young people in St. Louis with volunteer opportunities.

The candidate with the highest number of votes will be inducted into the hall of fame. Bernstein has the opportunity to win $10,000 and to make a $5,000 to the charity of her choice.

Bernstein also received recognition recently as part of another contest.
