Applications for the Leadership Clayton program are being accepted through Sept. 8.

The program "educates and develops effective community leaders," states an email newsletter from the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the program. Tuition is $550 for Chamber members and $650 for other participants, and payment is due once enrollment is confirmed.

To be selected for the program, applicants must demonstrate that they are engaged in leadership activities, volunteer in their community, want to learn about Clayton and contribute to it, have shown professional growth and leadership and can attend all sessions.

The program runs from October through May.
