Documentary filmmaker Ken Burns will make a September appearance in St. Louis as part of an event co-sponsored by Clayton-based Fontbonne University.

The free event, sponsored by the Fontbonne University/KMOX Book Club, will begin at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 at 1 S. Memorial Drive, Suite 1600 in downtown St. Louis City.

Those interested in being entered in a ticket drawing for the Burns event may do so by registering online. Winners will be notified by Sept. 12 and will be allowed to bring a guest.

Burns co-directed the upcoming film "Prohibition" and directed other projects, including "The Civil War" and "Baseball".
