The School District of Clayton is looking for volunteers to help elementary students work on language and reading skills, its website states.
Volunteers in the OASIS tutoring program give one hour each week on a day of their choice. Volunteers also get to pick the school at which they work. They will be helping students in kindergarten and those in first, second and third grades.
An informational coffee is scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug. 30 at the OASIS office in The Center of Clayton. Training sessions are planned for Sept. 13, 15, 20 and 22 at the Center.
More information is available by calling Harriet Spilker at 314-434-4996 or emailing hspilker@swbell.net.
